Coasters


This time I decided to try my hand with coasters, especially after noticing some nasty stains on my table and chairs after hot tea or coffee mugs had been resting there.





These ones are made from the first piece of wood I bought after deciding to pick up woodworking about 14 months ago.



Its a 3 inch wide mahogany plank that I had split into two on a bandsaw and had it roughly planed there too. It had 3 screw holes in it, but I couldn't guess what it had been used for. I mad so many little things from it back then, including an ashtray.

I found some of these designs online, others from a book I luckily picked up at the Cairo Book Fair beginning of this month.
